Baxter Community Center’s food and clothing pantry provides emergency food and clothing assistance for the most vulnerable families and individuals in the community. In 2001, the Family Assistance Program provided food and clothing for 1,200 individuals and families
A budget counseling program is another part of Family Assistance. Baxter works with individuals to instruct them in managing their finances to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to move from times of emergency need to regular employment and planned budgeting.
The Family Assistance Program works in collaboration with ACCESS food pantries, Second Harvest Gleaners, AARP, New Focus, and a number of local colleges and universities.
