The four-year-old Mizizi Maji Mentoring Program provides students between the ages of nine and fifteen with a greater understanding of appropriate behavior and the importance of academic success.  Students in the program are matched with adult mentors who offer a stable, supportive relationship.

The Baxter mentoring staff works in conjunction with the Grand Rapids Public Schools.
